BEAUTY CONSCIOUSNESS

LOOK PERFECT TO BE OF VALUE BUT DON’T OWN YOUR BEAUTY OR CELEBRATE YOURSELF – THAT WOULD BE SHALLOW. SUPERFICIAL. IMMODEST. Keep reading: my experience w/ botox & beauty mentality.

I am currently working on a book called “The Consciousness of Beauty.”

It’s about how western culture glorifies the external with relentless intensity, while simultaneously shames people for caring about how they look (thank you, modesty-heavy judao/christian indoctrination).

Sadly, this paradigm puts us into a chokehold where we cannot both live up to society’s physical standards while ALSO being seen as “righteous” and “good.”

Thus, this entire conversation remains in the dark IN SPITE of being SUCH A CENTRAL FOCUS (especially now with social media).

As usual, these photos of me are UNEDITED. The 3rd photo is of me and my dear friend @beautybydrkay with whom I’m collaborating on an upcoming conference where I’ll be speaking on this topic…

SO: LET’S GET REAL, shall we? Thanks to Dr. Kay, not editing anything has become an easy choice as I no longer have hyperpigmentation on my skin. I also, as of one year ago, started to get botox around my eyes and forehead for wrinkles.

SIDENOTE: Botox is a muscle relaxer. It doesn’t change your face like surgery, it just freezes certain muscles so you stop squinting or frowning deeply and therefore reduces wrinkles like crow’s feet.

The truth is I have changed the way i look mostly by changing how I FEEL about myself over many years of rewiring my neural pathways to see beauty rather than flaws, focusing on what i love so as to amplify + attract more of it. #quantumbeauty

TRUST ME: our consciousness around our looks can and will impact our radiance more than any botox or surgery ever could. SELF LOVE = beauty. SELF LOVE = owning and celebrating your physicality, not hiding from it.

In my clinical opinion, it is when physical modification comes from self loathing rather than enhancing what we already appreciate, that the work we must do is internal (self love) rather than external (makeup, skincare, botox).

I am such a huge proponent of everyone doing what brings them joy and expressing themselves in a way that lights them up with pleasure and wholeheartedness.
